ABOUT

Sam Lloyd is a final year BA Photography student from Roehampton University in London.

Much of Sam's inspiration comes from the world around him.  An avid walker, he enjoys exploring the areas he finds himself in and finding locations for potential shoots. He has no preference between location and studio shoots as he feels both can bring different characters to the images produced.

Sam enjoys the authenticity of a photograph and tries to edit his photos as little as possible. Manipulation of photographs has been a highly debated subject in recent decades and Sam has the belief that we filter out too much authenticity that we begin to forget who we are. Having struggled with mental health after the sudden death of his father, Sam knows all too well the struggles of fighting with yourself and fearing the unknown.

As Sam is just starting his journey with photography his ambition is to travel the world and see and capture as much as he can. Potentially working with publications such as National Geographic and BBC Wildlife Magazine. Sam has a keen interest and deep fascination with the world and wildlife; particularly conservation projects.
